Community U Classes Begin October 8

WATERTOWN, SD – Community U, a series of fun and informative classes, begins in Watertown October 8 and will feature a variety of topics offered to the public. Community U is a project of Watertown H2O-20, Lake Area Technical College, and the community of Watertown.
Classes are offered Tuesdays and Thursdays through November 26. Each class is an introduction to a skill, hobby, or topic and will be presented by local community members at area businesses or Lake Area Technical College. The Fall 2019 Community U roster of classes includes a wide selection of topics including Smartphone Basics, Christmas Treat Delights, Kiln-Fired Jewelry, Painted Pottery, Deer Tag Success, It Ain’t Duck Soup But It Is Soup, Positive Home Energy, Reverse Canvas Art, Murder at the Museum, Stained Glass, Fabulous Floral Focal Point, Jitterbug for Beginners, Basic Welding, Truck Clutch & Brake Adjustments, Cyanotype Photographic Printing, Lawn Equipment Maintenance, and Plasma Cutting Basics. Since Community U began seven years ago, more than 2000 people in our area have signed up for classes! Registration takes place through the Lake Area Technical College website and the registration fee for each class is $5. (Additional supplies fees apply for select classes requiring materials).
