Scholarships

Lake Area Technical College Foundation has awarded more than $450,000 in scholarships in the past year, supporting our students’ educational goals. Funding for scholarships has been provided by generous donors who believe in technical education and our students’ abilities to achieve academic success. 

The Lake Area Tech Foundation uses ONE universal online application for all scholarships (including Build Dakota). We encourage all students to apply! Approximately 400 students received Foundation scholarships in the previous academic year. 

Important Dates

  • January 1 – March 31: Application window for Foundation and Build Dakota scholarships for the Fall semester.
  • September 1 – October 25: Fall application window for Foundation scholarships to be utilized in the Spring semester.

The scholarship application cycle is now CLOSED

How to Apply

Students use their LATC MyPortal login to access our comprehensive online application. Note: new students will need to have been accepted into their program before receiving MyPortal credentials.

If you are an Applicant or Scholarship Administrator, please sign in using your MyPortal User Login + @lakeareatech.edu and your MyPortal password.

Example of Username: AB12345@lakeareatech.edu.

If you need help with your MyPortal User Login or password, please contact the Foundation Office at foundation@lakeareatech.edu.

Outside Scholarships

Lake Area Technical College Foundation processes all outside scholarships that students receive from private and non-profit institutions, corporations, or organizations. Students who have an outside scholarship should bring the check or a copy of their award letter to the Foundation office to ensure it is applied to their account.
