Capital City Campus
Lake Area Technical College and Capital City Campus in Pierre, SD, have partnered to offer Pierre, Ft. Pierre and area high school and college-bound students epic academic opportunities. This collaboration allows traditional or non-traditional students in central South Dakota the option to complete educational offerings close to home, whether it be one class or a whole program.
Practical Nursing
College-bound students in the Pierre area who are interested in pursuing a nursing career are encouraged to apply to Lake Area Tech’s full- or part-time online Practical Nursing program and, after acceptance, will complete the coursework online and labs at Capital City Campus in Pierre and clinicals at Avera St. Mary’s. Lake Area Tech has a history of providing top-notch nursing instruction using upper edge tools including simulation labs. Graduates of this program enjoy high placement rates and competitive wages.
Acceptance to the Lake Area Tech Practical Nursing program is based on testing scores, GPA, and completion of recommended courses. Dual Credit
Pierre, Ft. Pierre and area high school students interested in completing online Dual Credit courses may enroll in one of many classes offered through Lake Area Tech. Completion of dual credit courses may earn college credit. Click here for more information or to see the dual credit course offerings.
Students enrolled in Lake Area Tech’s Dual Credit courses must follow the same high standards and regulations as LATC students. This includes adhering to attendance policies and conduct standards.
