Lake Area Tech is committed to providing equal access to an educational experience through the provision of academic accommodations and by providing services that facilitate the academic and personal goals of each student in accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, and the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA) of 2008. In accordance with federal law, students with documented disabilities are entitled to reasonable and appropriate educational accommodations. We are committed to helping students with disabilities self-advocate and fully participate in all of the activities, programs, and services available at Lake Area Tech. Disability services are available to students with qualifying and documented learning, physical, or psychological disabilities. Lake Area Tech hopes to empower students with disabilities to gain the necessary education and skills they need to have a satisfying and productive career after graduation.

Getting Started

When applying for admission to LATC, you are not required to disclose any disability. To initiate the process to receive accommodation services, you just need to be an admitted student!

Questions? Reach out to Justus St Sauver at 605-956-0284.

Self-Disclosure & Registration for Services

Reach out to Academic Support Services on your own, or request a referral, at your first opportunity to set up accommodations. If you decide to wait, you can always change your mind and request accommodations at a later time.

Required Documentation

Accommodation needs are based on specific documentation. If you don’t have current documentation, the Accessibility Services Coordinator may be able to assist you in obtaining evaluation, etc.

Review & Interaction Process

The final step is to meet with the Academic Support Coordinator to discuss accommodations based on the registration form, documentation and other relevant factors.
