Job Summary
This position provides for procurement, storage, distribution, and charging of pharmaceutical products. Repackages, labels, checks for outdates, and safety of medications throughout the hospital.
Responsibilities include:
Prepares, delivers, and charges medications.
Fills medication carts.
Restocks floor and non-floor stock items and narcotics.
Opens medications from outside vendors, tests Bar Codes and prepares for internal usage.
Assists with the preparation of IV solutions and chemotherapy
Performs unit inspections of pharmaceutical items.
Maintains records on narcotic sheets, invoices, and receipts.
Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications
High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
South Dakota Board of Pharmacy Technician License.
Pharmacy Technician Certification (must be obtained within 2 years of hire).
