Mara Fredrick

Mara joined the Lake Area Tech team in January 2025 as an adjunct General Education/Chemistry instructor. She has an undergraduate degree in Biology with a Secondary Education focus and a Master’s degree in Chemistry with an Education Specialization from South Dakota State University. Mara has been teaching high school science for six years, currently in Redfield, SD. She teaches a variety of subjects, including chemistry, honors physics, honors anatomy and physiology, forensic science, dual-credit chemistry, and environmental science. She lives with her husband and two cats, Fred and Mocha, in Redfield. They spend a lot of time helping on her parents’ farm south of Redfield. In her free time, Mara enjoys reading, gardening, and traveling.
