Andrea Opitz

Andrea joined the Lake Area Tech team in August 2024 as a General Education instructor teaching Leadership in the Global Workplace. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Northern State University and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with Emphasis in Reading from Grand Canyon University. She also has a Chiropractic Assistant Certificate from the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Board. Prior to LATC, Andrea was an Elementary Education Teacher in Alaska for three years, an Elementary Education Teacher/Advanced Science Placement Coordinator/Academic Vice Principal in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates for 12 years, and she was the co-owner of Posh Pets Boutique & Spa in Abu Dhabi. Her hobbies include international traveling (50+ countries), cultural photography, and exploring new sports like white water rafting, paddle boarding, diving, skydiving, paragliding, bungee jumping, and dune bashing. She is originally from Eden, SD, and now lives in Watertown.
