Jake Jorgenson
Jake joined the Lake Area Technical College team in August 2018 as a Med/Fire Rescue instructor. He was a member of the first MFR class at Lake Area Technical College and earned his degree in 2010. After graduating high school in 2006, he joined the Waubay Volunteer Fire Department and knew that was what he wanted to do for a career. Jake attended the Med/Fire Rescue program at Lake Area Technical College and obtained his paramedic, firefighter I and II, and ARFF certifications. While attending Lake Area Technical College, he was hired at Watertown Fire Rescue in November of 2009, where he still works today as a firefighter/paramedic. During his career at Watertown Fire Rescue, he received his certifications at the technician’s level in high angle rope rescue, confined space rescue, trench rescue, structural collapse, and HAZMAT. He is also a Rescue 3 International Technical Rope Rescue instructor. Jake grew up on a farm outside of Waubay and currently resides in Watertown. In his spare time, he enjoys being outdoors, hunting, and fishing.
