Matt Gauger

In August 2024, Matt joined the Lake Area Tech team as an adjunct psychology instructor for the General Education department. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies and a Master’s degree in College Counseling from South Dakota State University. Matt is currently working as a licensed professional counselor at Bridgeway Counseling Center in Watertown. Prior to that, he worked as an advisor for the TRIO program at SDSU and also taught there for two years. In his free time, he is the lead vocalist for his band in Brookings and regularly plays for worship at his church. In addition to that he says he is sadly a diehard Minnesota Vikings fan and enjoys working out. He has been married to his wife, Kendra, for four years and they have a year-and-a-half old daughter, Autumn and a son on the way.
