Child Development Option
A career you can love. As a daycare provider, preschool teacher or preschool paraprofessional, you can help provide infants, toddlers and preschool age children with a stable, nourishing environment. Spend your work day building confidence, encouraging interests and talents, and allowing children to grow and learn through play and exploration!
Learn about: child growth and development, child behavior, basic needs, lesson planning, storytelling, health and safety, and caring for children with special needs.
As a student of this option, you can expect interactive, project-based learning. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to practice and develop activity and care methods. You will also complete a 330 hour specialized internship.
Choose to graduate with a diploma after 9 months, or get an 18-month Associate of Applied Science degree—it’s up to you!
