Lake Area Technical College Educare Center
The name “Educare” means “to train or mold,” reflecting our mission to nurture and guide young minds. Lake Area Technical College Children’s Educare Center welcomes children from community members. While priority enrollment is given to children of Lake Area Tech students, staff, and Educare priority business partners, children from the broader Watertown community and surrounding areas are welcome.
Our Philosophy
At Educare, we believe every child is a unique individual. Our philosophy centers on providing developmentally appropriate experiences that foster a love of learning. We aim to meet each child’s social, emotional, intellectual, and physical needs by creating a safe, nurturing, and child-oriented environment.
Our center is thoughtfully arranged to offer engaging play and learning opportunities at various developmental levels. Children are encouraged to explore, experience, and succeed through activities designed to challenge and inspire them.
Our Location and Facilities
Educare is housed in the former Garfield neighborhood elementary school, just six blocks south of Lake Area Tech’s main campus. The facility features a gymnasium, cafeteria, classrooms, and a secured outdoor recreation area.
Students from Lake Area Tech’s Child Development program gain hands-on experience by interacting with and teaching children at Educare, putting their education into practice.
