The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Colorado Field Maintenance Personnel (FMP) team is looking for installers (802 Engineering Technician) with backgrounds in HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general construction. The office is in Watkins Colorado in the Denver Metro area.
This is a Bargaining Unit Position with PASS: Professional Aviation Safety Specialist
Duties
· Read blueprints and schematics
· Mark up construction drawings for accuracy
· Participate in the accomplishment of various technical project tasks including but not limited to power, control, coax, fiber optic cable fault locating, troubleshooting and repairing
· Perform engine generator set up, modification, testing, troubleshooting, and relocation
· Analyze, install, repair, fabricate, and troubleshoot electronic, electrical, and mechanical systems
· Work directly with engineers and help maintain the infrastructure of the National Airspace System (NAS)
· Perform repairs and maintenance activities to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) facilities.
· Operate scissor and manlifts
· Operate heavy equipment
· Cross train and help other construction disciplines.
· Work in small teams (2-4 people) and assist other tradesmen in completing remote projects
Conditions of Employment:
· US Citizenship required.
· Valid Drivers License
· Travel up to 90% time all over the western US
· Successful completion of a security investigation
· Must be able to obtain a Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) within the first 12 months of employment and maintain throughout duration of employment in this position. Candidates already in possession of a CDL preferred
· Able to pass drug screening and random testing
· Work assignments can be physical and strenuous in nature. Duties may include climbing, lifting up to 80 pounds, working in uncomfortable or unusual body positions. Some work will be performed outdoors in all weather conditions
· Physical requirements include use of basic hand tools and power tools as required for the installation of electronic equipment. On occasion the incumbent may be required to climb antenna towers, poles, or structures in excess of 50 feet above the ground.
