Career Opportunities

Lake Area Tech graduates are in demand! Since 1965, the placement of our students has been consistently high… and a great majority of the graduates have decided to make South Dakota home. Over the years, employers have relied on Lake Area Tech to supply them with a highly-skilled graduate who can immediately go to work in their business without having to invest in additional training time.

Students

Lake Area Tech students are encouraged to review the jobs posted on this page in their search for a job or internship. Students with questions may contact Shane Swenson at shane.swenson@lakeareatech.edu.

Employers

Lake Area Tech receives hundreds of calls each year from employers requesting to list job openings. We invite employers to share company employment possibilities with our students by submitting your opportunities to appear on this page. Click on the Employers Submit Jobs button below to post your job. First-time job posters may click on the How to Post a Job banner below. Employer questions may be directed to Elizabeth Clobes at elizabeth.clobes@lakeareatech.edu.

Lake Area Tech also offers a Career Search Expo during the school year. It is an excellent opportunity for business and industry to connect directly with our students who will soon be entering the job force. Career Search Expo information can be found here.

How to Post a Job

On the Career Opportunities Page:

  1. To post a new job click “Employers Submit Jobs” (Employers Job Dashboard is to manage a previously posted job).
  2. If you have an account, click the red Sign In button and enter your username and password.
  3. If you don’t have an account, fill out the form on that page including your email. When the form is complete, hit the Preview Button where you can click one of two buttons: Edit Listing if needed or Submit Listing for review.
  4. After Submit Listing is clicked, you will receive a message that says your job has been submitted successfully. Your job will be sent for approval to the jobs webpage manager. You will also receive an email with a link to establish your username and password.
  5. Write down the username and password you chose for this account and use them when posting jobs in the future.
  6. If you hit Save Draft, you will be able to resume from the Job Dashboard on the Career Opportunities Page. (This still posts to the admin jobs page).
