Lake Area Tech College Vice President Stiles to Resign

WATERTOWN, SD Lake Area Technical College Vice President, Diane Stiles has announced her resignation. Stiles has served in the position of Vice President since July 1, 2014.
Stiles, who is originally from Kansas, was employed at Northwest Kansas Technical College prior to coming to Lake Area Tech College. In that role, she served as Assistant Vice-President for Student Affairs before moving to a leadership role in Academic Affairs. In addition to her post-secondary experience, she served as Executive Director of Norton County Economic Development.
During her time at Lake Area Tech, Stiles has been instrumental in many successful initiatives including but not limited to: the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence, the extensive implementation and utilization of aggregate data for planning and development, fostering a robust faculty and staff, executing and fulfilling successful accreditation processes, and developing significant policies and procedures throughout the college and was selected for the Aspen Rising President Fellowship. Diane has served on many local, regional and national boards.
Stiles comments, “My family and I have an extraordinary opportunity to move back home to Kansas and be closer to our families. We are happy our children have a chance to grow up near their grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins, but we will deeply miss Lake Area Tech and the community of Watertown. We’re grateful for the opportunities provided and value the Watertown friendships we formed along the way.” Diane and her husband, Asa, have three children.
