LATI Car Club Raises Funds for Operation Black Hills Cabin
Watertown, SD – Students in Lake Area Technical College’s Automotive Technology, High Performance Engine Machining, and Custom Paint & Fab programs ended the year on a high note by hosting the 11th annual Car Show for a Cause on April 30. An estimated 1,000 people attended the Car Show that featured 94 entries. Proceeds raised at the event totaled $3,655 for Operation Black Hills Cabin. Combined with the $1,012 raised during the fall Car Care 40-Point Inspection event, the total raised for OBHC during the school year was $4,667! The check presentation to Operation Black Hills Cabin representatives was held in May.
Category winners at the Car Show (pictured below, top to bottom) were: 1. People’s Choice – Ryan VanDusseldorp, 1948 Chevy Pick Up; 2. High Performance Engine Machining Choice – Dave Marlow, 1957 Ford Custom 300; 3. Automotive Tech Choice – Bruce Moser, 1969 Chevy Camaro; 4. Custom Paint & Fab Choice – Wayne Zumny, 1979 Ford Bronco; and 5. Best of Show – Kelvin Korth, 1956 Lincoln Premiere 2-Door Convertible.
