For Immediate Release
FEBRUARY 2, 2017
Watertown, SD – The fifth-annual All-Campus Read is underway at Lake Area Technical College in a campus-wide effort to encourage reading for fun. Highlighting the event will be a public book reading by Patrick Hicks, author of the 2017 All-Campus Read book selection, The Commandant of Lubizec. The event will take place Thursday, March 23 at 3:00 p.m. on the fourth level of the LATI Student Center.
“We are extremely pleased to welcome author Patrick Hicks to campus for his book reading,” said LATI Librarian Nicki Yackley-Franken. “We highly encourage members of the public to read the book and then join us for the reading event. All-Campus Read began five years ago, but this is the first time we’ve been fortunate enough to host an author, especially of this caliber.”
Hicks is a critically acclaimed and award-winning author of more than 10 books. Currently, he is the Writer-in-Residence at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD, and a faculty member at the MFA program at Sierra Nevada College in Nevada. Learn more at http://patrickhicks.org/.
